Salvia semiatrata

A medium sized perennial plant with upright stems which are slightly woody at the base and which carry small olive green leaves. Masses of  bright purple flowers with a contrasting bottom lip which gives it a two toned effect. Flowers appear from summer through to late autumn. This plant produces stunning flowers held above the foliage. Thrives in moist, well drained soil in full sun to part shade. Ideal for perennial borders, cottage gardens and pots. Prune after flowering to maintain compact growth. Grows to 1m.
